Day 7, Florence to Bandon, Ore

Another 75 mile day but the weather has continued to be favorable.  We started the ride with a few big, long climbs and then the ride leveled out until we arrived at the "7 Devils Rd" about 20 miles from Bandon.  7 Devils Rd is a series of 7 climbs over a distance of 5-6 miles.  Having climbs at the end of the ride really beats you up.  Thankfully tomorrow is a rest day in Bandon.  We'll get to put our feet up and watch football (aka known as take a nap).  Everyone is looking forward to being off the bike for a day.

Erica, a gal from the UK finally went to the hospital to get checked out.  She's had a bad cough for the last 7 days.  Michelle played PA and stayed with her during the visit.  Turns out the doctor was moonlighting from Portland and more interestingly he grew up in Greenwich, Ct.  So Erica got a Z pack and an inhaler and is thankful for a day off.

The other injury of the day came when JP took a fall.  He doesn't know what happened but he wound up on the ground, his bike twisted up and blood / scrapes on his arms, legs and hands.  Thankfully no broken bones.

So tomorrow we rest and 2 days later we cross over into California.

Three weeks to go!

Best to all,

M and Big
