Today was a short day only 47 miles. The ride started with a big, long (4 mile) climb. We sighted Whales and dolphins in Monteray Bay. The ride continued past the golf courses at Pebble Beach where we stopped for morning coffee and the best Cinnemon roll of the trip. Pebble Beach is owned by a syndicate headed by the late Arnold Palmer and Clint Eastwood. Our waitress told us
Arnold would sit and enjoy Cinnemon pancakes every morning he was in town. Our bill was $40.00 for two cups of tea and a Cinnemon bun / egg sandwich. We also learned that a round of golf is $495.00! But what a beautiful setting for a golf course.
We continued on through the beautiful town of Carmel and then (up) to Big Sur. We stayed in cabins with the Big Sur river just below.
Dinner at the only place in town and an early night because tomorrow is a big day.
Best,
M and Big
